Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday), with some overtime required

We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and passionate Master Carpenter who values organization, technology, and absolute precision to join our team.

The Role

As a Master Carpenter, you will play a pivotal role on our job sites, executing a wide variety of structural and architectural carpentry tasks. You will work independently or lead a small team to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to our exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and building codes to plan and execute tasks accurately.
  • Perform all phases of residential carpentry, including complex framing, roof layouts, window/door installations, and exterior trim.
  • Execute high-end interior finishing work, including custom trim, baseboards, crown molding, and specialized architectural details.
  • Utilize our construction management software daily to track project milestones, document progress, log site details, and maintain seamless communication.
  • Manage material layouts efficiently to minimize waste and maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to carpenters and laborers on site.

What You Bring

  • Certification & Language: Valid Journeyman Carpenter ticket (or proven track record of experience). Fluency in English is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years experience in residential construction, with a strong emphasis on high-end custom homes.
  • Core Attributes: Must be highly organized, quality-driven, and able to work independently. A positive attitude, professional demeanour, and a strict attention to detail are absolute musts.
  • Team Collaboration & Attitude: Bringing a consistently positive, solutions-oriented attitude to the site. Thriving in a collaborative environment and demonstrating a genuine enjoyment for working seamlessly alongside other carpenters and sub-trades.
  • Client Interaction: Maintaining a highly professional demeanour, clean appearance, and articulate communication when interacting directly with homeowners.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with construction management software is a core requirement. You must be comfortable using mobile apps on-site for daily communication, job logging and schedules.
  • Site Requirements:
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, your own hand tools/pouch, steel-toe boots.
    • Note: Because we work exclusively on premium, high-end custom homes with sensitive finishes and materials, the ideal candidate is a non-smoker.
    • A criminal record check may be required as a condition of employment.
