Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

About Us

At Diamond Valley Custom Homes, we don’t just build houses—we craft exceptional, award-winning homes. We pride ourselves on uncompromising quality, meticulous attention to detail, and a highly organized, professional approach to project management. From architectural inception to the final finishing touches, our reputation is built on absolute precision and seamless execution.

We are looking for a highly structured, proactive, and driven Junior Project Manager to join our team. If you are detail-oriented, eager to learn high-end custom residential construction, and want to develop your career alongside seasoned professionals, this is the place for you.

The Role

As a Junior Project Manager, you will work closely with senior leadership to support the daily execution of our custom residential projects. You will act as a vital coordinator connecting our clients, site crews, sub-trades, and the office. This is a hands-on role where you will learn our systems, manage project documentation, and help ensure our architecturally driven homes are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to our exacting quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination & Support: Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking custom home builds from groundbreaking to handover, ensuring milestones are met and site workflows remain efficient.
  • Software & Tech Management: Utilize our construction management software daily as the primary tool for scheduling, tracking budgets, daily job logging, updating purchase orders, and team communication.
  • Sub-Trade & Supplier Coordination: Assist in scheduling, managing, and holding sub-trades accountable. Help ensure all work meets site schedules and complies with building codes.
  • Financial Administration: Support project cost control by tracking budgets, reviewing material layouts to minimize waste, and processing purchase orders accurately.
  • Site Support & Inspections: Conduct regular site visits and inspections alongside senior team members to ensure safety regulations, structural integrity, and our strict “pristine clean-site” policies are maintained.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Assist in providing transparent updates to clients and stakeholders, maintaining professionalism and clear communication at all times.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in residential construction coordination, project administration, or a hands-on site role. Experience or exposure to high-end custom homes is a strong asset.
  • Tech Savvy & Highly Structured: Absolute comfort utilizing digital tools. Expertise in construction management software or an aptitude to master digital scheduling, budgeting, and site documentation apps quickly is a core requirement.
  • AI Familiarity: Experience or familiarity with utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to streamline workflows, draft professional communications, or organize project data is considered a strong asset. We value forward-thinking efficiency.
  • Core Attributes: A proactive mindset with strong initiative, excellent organization, and a desire to learn. A strict attention to detail and a quality-driven approach are absolute musts.
  • Language: Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required for extensive client, supplier, and trade communication.
  • Site & Premium Property Requirements:
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and CSA-approved steel-toe boots for site visits.
    • Note: Because we work exclusively on premium, high-end custom homes with sensitive finishes, the ideal candidate is a non-smoker.
    • A criminal record check may be required as a condition of employment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Attractive pay structured as a competitive salary/hourly rate commensurate with entry-to-junior level experience and skill.
  • Growth: Structured performance reviews with clear opportunities for yearly salary increases based on skill development and contribution to the company.
  • Vacation: Vacation pay is calculated and paid out consistently every pay period.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits package.

What We Offer

  • Mentorship & Training: Learn the ropes of premium custom home building from an established, award-winning team dedicated to your professional development.
  • Architectural Excellence: Take immense pride in helping manage the construction of some of the most architecturally driven custom homes in Alberta.
  • Modern Business Practices: Work within a forward-thinking company that utilizes state-of-the-art tools, technology, and streamlined business practices to eliminate administrative friction.
  • Career Progression: A clear pathway for advancement into a full Project Manager role as our premium building company continues to expand.
  • Consistent Local Focus: Premium custom projects primarily located within the local region, keeping your daily travel manageable.
